the primary role of the Family Support Worker is to work with people of the Aboriginal community to promote the health and development of each child, youth and family.

Services
~provide services, support and training directed at children, youth and their families who may be at risk of personal and/or famly disruption due to issues such as health, justice, mental health and child protection concerns ~work in close cooperation with MCFD staff regarding any child who may be in need of protection, participating to the fullest extent in any child abuse/neglect investigation ~provide counseling, support services and referrals for individual children, youth and families ~identify and develop community resources that may be available to alleviate child protection concerns ~identify, regularly contact and provide liason and communication with and for Metis children in care ~promote the healthy development of children, youth and families by providing information, activities and support.
