This section contains information about counseling and mental health services in the North Cariboo. The goal/provision of counseling/mental health services is to enhance mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being, both for individuals and for families. Counseling is assessing, describing, preventing and treating personal and relationship difficulties.

Counseling/mental health services are provided by trained professionals, including social workers, nurses, youth care workers, clinical counselors, medical doctors and social services workers. Many professionals are accountable to a regulatory body; usually counseling professionals are bound by a Code of Ethics which are specific to their profession, but all of which outline fundamental beliefs and standards that govern professional practice.
