COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Mandate/Mission

TO RESTORE, PRESERVE AND PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH FOR CLIENTS IN QUESNEL ENSURING PROVISION OF EFFECTIVE AND RESPONSIVE SERVICES. MENTAL HEALTH FULFILS THIS MISSION THROUGH ITS MANDATE TO PROVIDE CORE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES WHICH INCLUDE ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT AND SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH SERIOUS AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS AND THOSE AT RISK OF DEVELOPING SIGNIFICANT MENTAL HEALTH DISABILITIES.

Program Purpose

  • Reduce (re) hospitalization
  • Reduce the debilitating effects of the illness on the client
  • Create an environment for independent and autonomous functioning
  • Provide services closer to home
  • Enable clients to access services that will normalize their lifestyle
